Senior Underwriter

Location: Remote; hybrid work is available for local Madison, Wisconsin employees, while exceptional remote candidates may be considered.

What you will do

• Assess, underwrite, and price complex commercial property and casualty insurance risks.
• Review insurance applications and accurately evaluate the degree of risk involved.
• Develop underwriting strategies that support business growth and profitability.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, and senior management to manage, retain, and grow the client base.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of property, casualty, or life underwriting experience, including management of large accounts.
• Ability to build strong broker and carrier relationships.
• Advanced analytical, decision-making, leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance policies, admitted and non-admitted regulations, and market trends.
• Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple lines of insurance.
• Experience in Dealer’s Open Lot.
