Salary: $88,000–$164,000 annually; expected starting range of $88,000–$132,000

What you will do

• Evaluate, underwrite, select, and classify complex medical and non-medical life insurance applications.
• Order and assess evidence of insurability, including medical examinations, laboratory results, physician reports, interviews, and alternative medical information.
• Apply accelerated underwriting and risk-based decision-making to determine requirements and appropriate risk classes.
• Assess financial information, establish insurable interest, and handle automatic and facultative reinsurance within treaty terms.
• Interpret electrocardiogram tracings and consult with medical, staff, and chief underwriting specialists on complex cases.
• Mentor less experienced underwriters, collaborate with field partners, and contribute to underwriting projects and process improvements.

Requirements

• Five years of life underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical and non-medical risks, financial underwriting, insurance products, and reinsurance.
• Ability to evaluate complex beneficiary situations, foreign risks, financial supplements, and investment life distribution systems.
• Advanced verbal and written communication, negotiation, independent judgment, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; the position does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization and hirify.global does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

Nice to have

• Undergraduate study in a medical discipline, marketing, insurance, risk management, economics, finance, or business management.
• LOMA Level 1 Certificate or progress toward ALMI, ALU, or related professional designations.
