What you will do

• Underwrite surety risks in line with business plans, underwriting standards, and delegated authorities.
• Maintain and expand a profitable surety portfolio while focusing on underwriting profit.
• Monitor regulatory, compliance, market, and product developments.
• Refer risks exceeding prescribed authority and participate in weekly peer reviews and account reviews.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, customers, and internal claims and surety teams.
• Contribute to improvements in management information systems, rating models, underwriting manuals, service standards, and risk management processes.

Requirements

• Previous experience in underwriting or credit.
• Strong technical knowledge of surety and/or banking.
• Sound judgment and objective decision-making skills.
• Ability to take calculated risks and negotiate effectively.
• Knowledge of internal and external compliance and regulatory controls.
• Strong market knowledge and relationship-building skills.
