Senior Underwriter (Mortgage)

Location: Remote USA

hirify.global is a distributed retail mortgage lender operating across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

What you will do

• Underwrite and clear conditions for Agency and Non-Agency mortgage loans.
• Maintain a pipeline with a 24-hour turnaround for final underwriting and a 48-hour turnaround for upfront underwriting.
• Analyze credit risk using company checklists, internal guides, Agency guides, and investor guides.
• Communicate errors and missing information to Loan Processors by email or telephone.
• Update condition sheets and review resubmissions in Encompass.
• Issue final approvals, upload approval documentation, and collaborate with internal departments on closed-file stipulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of mortgage banking software, mortgage underwriting, loans, purchase transactions, and refinance transactions.
• Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• SAR and/or DE experience preferred.

• Experience underwriting USDA and Bond programs.
