Software Engineering Manager (Cardiac Ablation Solutions)

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; minimum 4 days per week onsite

Salary: $150,400–$225,600 per year in U.S. locations excluding Puerto Rico and specific California locations.

What you will do

• Lead software engineering teams developing, testing, sustaining, and maintaining complex medical device software for the Affera cardiac mapping and ablation system.
• Set technical direction, development priorities, execution plans, and release milestones aligned with product and business strategy.
• Coordinate software deliverables across multiple sites while managing risks, defects, technical estimates, resources, and release activities.
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Systems, Test, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering teams to resolve integration issues and deliver compliant products.
• Recruit, coach, mentor, retain, and develop engineering talent while promoting accountability, collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence.
• Drive improvements in architecture, cybersecurity, testability, documentation, maintainability, scalability, and product performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of managerial experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of managerial experience.
• Experience balancing technical leadership, people management, execution discipline, and long-term engineering strategy.
• Familiarity with Python and C++.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design, implementation, code review, integration, and requirements traceability.
• Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for roles below Principal level.
• Ability to work at least 4 days per week onsite in Mounds View, Minnesota.

Nice to have

• Experience with medical product software development, IEC-62304, FDA guidance, software lifecycle processes, configuration management, and regulated product development.
• Experience leading complex systems involving real-time performance, hardware integration, data visualization, distributed components, embedded software, imaging, mapping, or medical device platforms.
• Experience working with cross-functional Quality, Regulatory, Systems, Test, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering partners.
• Experience writing technical reports and applying Agile development practices.
