Software Engineering Manager (Cardiac Ablation Solutions)

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; minimum 4 days per week onsite

Salary: $150,400–$225,600 USD per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan

What you will do

• Lead software engineering teams developing complex medical-device software for the Affera cardiac mapping and ablation system.
• Set technical direction, development priorities, resource plans, estimates, and execution plans.
• Oversee architecture, design, development, sustaining activities, testing, defect resolution, and product releases.
• Coordinate software deliverables across multiple sites in accordance with FDA and other regulatory requirements.
• Recruit, coach, mentor, retain, and develop software engineering talent.
• Drive improvements in software quality, maintainability, scalability, cybersecurity, testability, documentation, and engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of managerial experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of managerial experience.
• Experience balancing technical leadership, people management, execution discipline, and long-term engineering strategy.
• Familiarity with Python and C++.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design, implementation, code review, integration, and requirements traceability.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for roles below Principal level.

Nice to have

• Experience with medical product software development, IEC-62304, FDA guidance, software lifecycle processes, and configuration management.
• Experience with embedded software, real-time systems, imaging, mapping, hardware integration, data visualization, or distributed systems.
• Experience collaborating with Quality, Regulatory, Systems, Test, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineering partners.
• Technical report writing experience and strong written and verbal communication skills.
