Senior Engineering Manager, Clinical (AI)

Location: U.S. Remote; must reside in the United States

Base salary: $260,000–$310,000 per year, based on experience and level.

What you will do

• Lead two Clinical Division engineering teams responsible for the clinician order pipeline and patient continuity experience.
• Manage performance, career growth, promotions, technical development, and underperformance across engineers from mid-level through staff.
• Own team goals, roadmap execution, planning, delivery pace, blocker removal, feedback loops, and work-in-progress discipline.
• Improve adoption of AI-native engineering tools, including agentic coding, repository-native tooling, MCP servers, code review, and test acceleration.
• Partner with Product, Design, clinical stakeholders, and leadership on scope, discovery, delivery, architecture, risk assessments, and capacity planning.
• Guide engineering excellence through agile methods, TDD, software design principles, code reviews, design discussions, and incident retrospectives.

Requirements

• Must reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work there.
• At least 5 years of engineering management experience, including managing multiple teams or through technical leads.
• At least 10 years of experience delivering production software.
• Demonstrated performance management experience, including developing engineers and addressing underperformance directly.
• Professional experience with open-source programming languages.
• Hands-on familiarity with modern AI development tooling and experience driving adoption across engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, clinical workflows, or another regulated domain.
• Experience leading teams through a management transition or structural change.
• Experience operating in a large shared codebase with clear domain ownership boundaries.
