What you will do
- Define and execute the engineering strategy, operating model, governance, standards, and decision rights.
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering organisation, including technical leadership, career frameworks, capability development, coaching, and succession planning.
- Establish platform engineering, developer tooling, self-service capabilities, and practices that improve developer experience and delivery productivity.
- Lead quality engineering through test automation, performance engineering, test data management, quality gates, and production feedback loops.
- Drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, API-first development, secure coding, automated security controls, and frequent safe releases.
- Develop the strategy and governance for AI-assisted software engineering while partnering with architecture, security, data, operations, business, product, and third-party delivery teams.
Requirements
- Experience leading large engineering organisations through growth, transformation, and change.
- Experience introducing AI-assisted engineering practices, coding assistants, automation, and AI-enabled software delivery.
- Strong knowledge of quality engineering, test automation, Agile, DevSecOps, cloud technologies, CI/CD, and secure software development.
- Experience improving developer productivity through platform engineering, developer tooling, self-service capabilities, and DevEx initiatives.
- Strong executive-level stakeholder management, commercial decision-making, and ability to translate complex technical issues into business outcomes.
- Experience building high-performing teams and leading organisational change in complex or regulated environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with Microsoft technologies including Azure, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365.
