Location: Work from home in Virginia, United States; the description also references an Arlington, VA office. Must be a US Citizen and able to maintain a DHS Entry on Duty/Public Trust.

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, implementation, and long-term operation of Databricks on AWS in an enterprise government environment.
• Build and productionize Databricks solutions for federal customers.
• Unify organizational and enterprise data capabilities by standardizing and migrating data to a shared data plane or warehouse.
• Integrate Databricks with analytics platforms, metadata solutions, and existing data ecosystems.
• Advise stakeholders, document best practices, and upskill internal teams.
• Develop customer use cases and support onboarding for federal organizations adopting Databricks.

Requirements

• US citizenship and ability to maintain a DHS Entry on Duty/Public Trust are required.
• At least 7 years of hands-on experience architecting, designing, and engineering Databricks and AWS solutions in a government setting.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Lakebase, lakehouse architectures, Delta Lake, Delta Sharing, Medallion Architecture, data and AI governance, Unity Catalog, and MLflow.
• Working knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud ecosystems, including cloud-native data and ETL services such as S3, Lambda, and Glue.
• Strong Python skills, experience with CI/CD and Agile delivery, and experience managing cross-functional technical work.
• Federal customer and platform experience, including knowledge of GovCloud or FISMA, plus at least one Databricks certification.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting DHS or working with the DHS System Engineering Lifecycle.
• Experience with data mesh concepts, Databricks Apps, metadata platforms such as DataHub or Collibra, and reference architecture documentation.
• AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Associate certifications.
• Experience as a Databricks Resident Solutions Architect or Forward Deployed Engineer.
• Experience with agentic AI tools such as Databricks Genie and Agent Bricks.
