Location: Newport, United Kingdom; international travel of approximately 50% is required, including customer-site visits and potentially extended trips.

βs SPTS division designs, manufactures, and supports wafer processing equipment for semiconductor and related industries, including PVD, etch, PECVD, and molecular vapor deposition systems.
What you will do
- Maintain, develop, and improve PVD semiconductor process equipment hardware.
- Build and fault-find new designs in the factory through the PLC process.
- Install and troubleshoot new products at customer sites.
- Plan and execute hardware testing, validation, compliance checks, and performance characterization.
- Work with process engineers to optimize hardware reliability and process capability.
- Support technology development programs from early concepts through customer-ready systems and report customer requirements back to the factory.
Requirements
- Minimum HNC qualification in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Understanding of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, including system integration, calibration, and diagnostics.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, organization, and initiative-taking skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a regulated semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally approximately 50%, sometimes at short notice and for extended periods.
