PVD Equipment Technician - Nights 2 (Semiconductor Manufacturing): Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining PVD equipment and process chambers in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility with an accent on preventive maintenance, equipment performance analysis, and complex fault diagnosis. Focus on resolving simultaneous equipment failures, using SPC and FabGuard data, supporting upgrades and wafer recovery, and coordinating downtime across manufacturing disciplines.

Location: Austin, United States; onsite night-shift work in a 7x24 manufacturing facility

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware and process failures on AMAT Endura, AMAT Centura, and related PVD toolsets.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to standardized work documents and support improvements to maintenance procedures.
  • Analyze SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection and Classification data to evaluate tool performance and identify complex issues.
  • Document maintenance activities and maintain spare-parts inventory.
  • Support equipment upgrades, long-down troubleshooting, wafer recovery, and post-maintenance qualification activities.
  • Coordinate equipment downtime with manufacturing leads and collaborate with equipment engineers and process technicians.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in engineering or science, or at least 7 years of NXP or affiliate experience in lieu of the degree.
  • At least 5 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Working knowledge of PVD processes and toolsets, including Novellus Concept 2 mainframes with Speed and Sequel chambers.
  • Experience installing, operating, repairing, and troubleshooting advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment and electronics.
  • Ability to read schematics and complex technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Ability to work onsite in Austin on the night shift, stand for extended periods, and lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
