Sr. State Product Manager - Personal Lines (Insurance): Leading strategic product direction for high-value U.S. personal lines states and developing state-specific and countrywide strategies with an accent on product development, pricing, underwriting appetite, distribution, and P&L performance. Focus on analyzing profitability and competitive trends, influencing regulatory and cross-functional decisions, and leading teams through complex market initiatives.

Location: Remote within any of the lower 48 U.S. states

Salary: $138,000–$206,000 expected starting annual range; national range $138,000–$243,000

What you will do

  • Lead strategic direction and multi-year plans for one or two high-value, complex states and support additional states through direct reports.
  • Drive countrywide personal lines strategy and high-impact enterprise initiatives.
  • Analyze product performance, profitability, business mix, distribution, rate structures, trends, competitive data, and financial results.
  • Develop and execute state-specific product, pricing, underwriting, and distribution strategies.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Claims, Actuarial, Underwriting, Technology, and Legal to align execution.
  • Lead associate management, including hiring, performance management, compensation planning, training, development, and organization planning.

Requirements

  • Ten years of experience in underwriting and product, preferably with cross-functional experience and data analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration, or an equivalent field; an MBA is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance products, pricing architecture, underwriting procedures, state regulations, financial analysis, and competitor data.
  • Experience managing states toward P&L objectives and leading high-impact strategic initiatives.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, stakeholder influence, problem-solving, organizational, and people leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools, relational databases, data visualization, query-based languages, and/or statistical software is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Experience with California; Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia; or Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
  • Progress toward or completion of CPCU, AU, CIC, INS, ARM, actuarial exams, or similar designations.
