Associate CNC Machinist (Mill) (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California; full-time onsite presence five days a week. The facility is based in Hawthorne, with very limited exceptions to onsite work.

Salary: $25–$35 per hour, plus stock options.

What you will do

• Operate and support CNC machining processes, including setup, basic programming edits, tool changes, and part inspection.
• Use mills, lathes, bandsaws, grinders, and other manual tools for part finishing and fixture creation.
• Apply precision measurement techniques to verify part quality and tolerances.
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines and shop equipment, including air compressors, chillers, and inert gas systems.
• Contribute to shop organization and process improvements in an R&D machine shop.

Requirements

• At least one year of CNC operation experience or completion of formal technical machining training.
• Ability to work onsite full time, five days per week, in Hawthorne, California.
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds unassisted and remain on foot for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders and work overtime when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience operating CNC mills or lathes and basic understanding of G-code.
• Exposure to metal additive manufacturing and post-processing.
• Experience with manual machining, welding, or fabrication using stainless steel, aluminum, or nickel alloys.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, cranes, forklifts, and facility systems.
