Support Engineer - ADAS

Location: Based in Shanghai or Beijing, China; hybrid work with two office days per week and three days available from the office or home. Customer-site travel is required for workshops, vehicle tests, and production-critical support.

What you will do

• Provide L2/L3 technical support for ADAS map data, SDKs, APIs, developer tools, and customer integration environments through remote and on-site engagement.
• Support customer onboarding, environment setup, SDK configuration, credentials, map access, sample applications, and initial data retrieval or horizon generation.
• Reproduce, triage, and resolve issues involving SDK behavior, map content, positioning, map matching, route projection, ADASIS output, connectivity, performance, and platform compatibility.
• Collect diagnostic evidence, classify defects and integration issues, and route escalations to the appropriate engineering owners.
• Perform release qualification and regression testing on Android, Linux, and QNX environments, including field and simulation-based validation.
• Create troubleshooting guides, known-issue records, FAQs, test procedures, runbooks, and integration examples while identifying recurring support improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Geomatics, Electronics, or a related discipline.
• Typically 5+ years of experience in technical support, software integration, validation, or application engineering within automotive, mapping, navigation, ADAS, or autonomous driving.
• Working knowledge of ADAS map content, SDKs, APIs, embedded software, map-data pipelines, Linux command-line tools, logs, shell scripting, networking, and structured troubleshooting.
• Programming or scripting capability in C++, Java/Kotlin, and/or Python, plus familiarity with REST, MQTT, Kafka, Protobuf, JSON, or comparable technologies.
• Fluent Chinese and professional English are required.
• Based in Shanghai or Beijing and willing to travel to customer sites.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital maps, navigation, ADAS, autonomous-driving algorithms, intelligent vehicles, or automotive software.
• Knowledge of NDS, NDS.Live, ADASIS v2/v3, OGP, PBF, OpenLR, GIS, or map visualization.
• Experience with OEM or Tier-1 programs, automotive SoCs, embedded platforms, vehicle logs, GNSS, CAN, Ethernet traces, simulation, test drives, or map-quality validation.
• Understanding of software releases, CI/CD, automated testing, defect triage, and root-cause analysis.
