TL;DR
Technical FinOps Analyst (Cloud): Analyzing and optimizing AWS, Azure, and GCP spending through usage analysis, cost allocation, chargeback/showback programs, budgeting, forecasting, and executive dashboards with an accent on cloud architecture, financial modeling, and cross-functional cost optimization. Focus on identifying resource inefficiencies, translating reserved instance and spot pricing strategies into savings, and building transparent cloud cost reporting.

Location: Remote within a limited U.S. geography; candidates must live in or within a commutable distance of Louisville, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Dallas or Frisco, Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, or Charlotte. Occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $89,000–$121,400 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

  • Analyze cloud usage to identify anomalies, over-provisioned resources, and underutilized infrastructure.
  • Partner with engineering to develop right-sizing, decommissioning, reserved instance, spot pricing, and infrastructure cost-saving recommendations.
  • Build and maintain cost allocation frameworks across AWS, Azure, and GCP by team, project, or service.
  • Implement and manage cloud chargeback and showback programs for business units and projects.
  • Collaborate with finance on cloud budgets, usage-based forecasts, and spending oversight.
  • Create dashboards and reports showing cloud spend, savings, and efficiency metrics for leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of cloud architecture, infrastructure monitoring, and cloud cost management across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with scripting using Python and Bash, SQL, data analysis, financial modeling, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence technical and financial decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, finance, accounting, or a related field is commonly expected.
  • Relevant certifications may include FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Administrator AZ-104, or Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer.
  • Must meet the limited U.S. geographic requirement and maintain a dedicated workspace that protects member PHI and HIPAA information.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting FinOps or cloud cost management across multi-cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud billing exports, invoicing workflows, purchase orders, and audit documentation.
  • Knowledge of Cloudability or similar cloud financial management platforms.
  • Experience developing executive-level financial and operational dashboards.
  • Additional certifications in cloud, finance, or process improvement.
