Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (AI)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: $95,000–$135,000 per year for roles performed from Illinois; compensation may vary for California, Colorado, and New York.

What you will do

• Design, develop, administer, and launch advanced analytics dashboards, reports, and business intelligence tools.
• Gather requirements across cross-functional teams and deliver analytical solutions into production.
• Develop datasets, analyses, data views, and self-service exploration tools using multiple data and visualization technologies.
• Perform root-cause and problem-solving analyses with laboratory, business operations, engineering, technical, and product teams.
• Identify internal system changes needed to support future data analysis requirements.
• Develop and facilitate data governance initiatives to maintain data integrity across distributed systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration, finance, economics, mathematics, operations research, marketing, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing datasets for analytical use cases.
• 5+ years of experience managing stakeholders and owning analytics or data projects through the full lifecycle.
• 5+ years of report development and data visualization experience with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
• At least 1 year of experience using agentic workflows, including Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf.
• Advanced SQL skills, strong communication, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Advanced analytics experience with classification, predictive modeling, optimization, or forecasting.
• Python experience for data engineering or advanced data analysis.
• Healthcare domain knowledge and experience.
• Expertise in database and data modeling, query performance tuning, and knowledge sharing.
