Electrical Engineer (Hardware Design)

Location: Los Angeles, CA; based in Hawthorne with full-time onsite presence five days a week.

Salary: $105,000–$140,000 annually, dependent on academic level and demonstrated experience.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics and printed circuit boards.
• Model and simulate circuit designs to analyze performance.
• Contribute to electrical architecture, product requirements, component selection, schematic capture, and prototyping.
• Perform prototype bring-up, hands-on debugging, documentation, productization, manufacturing, and testing.
• Use laboratory test equipment, custom instrumentation, and testing setups to investigate unexpected issues.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines and manage projects from initial design through production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.
• At least 2 years of professional experience designing and delivering complex electrical hardware.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to use a first-principles approach to solve new and complex engineering problems.
• Willingness to work onsite in Hawthorne five days per week.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering.
• Experience with industrial automation, robotics, spacecraft avionics, or high-performance electromechanical systems.
• Experience with sensors, embedded microcontroller design and firmware, or FPGA hardware and software development.
• Experience with high-speed data acquisition, high-accuracy motion, high-speed scanning, or camera- and telemetry-based control systems.
