What you will do

• Design, test, troubleshoot, and scale high-voltage pulsed-power systems for driving magnetic coils at currents up to 5 MA and voltages up to 40 kV.
• Evaluate and integrate solid-state switching devices, high-energy capacitors, pulse-forming networks, buswork, protection, grounding, and related components.
• Design and integrate DC/DC, AC/DC, and DC/AC converters for energy delivery, recovery, and distribution from hundreds to thousands of volts.
• Develop switching-stage designs including bridge, resonant, buck, and boost converter topologies.
• Design low-voltage control electronics, PCBAs, and analog front ends for current, voltage, field, temperature, and other diagnostics.
• Partner with firmware and software teams on acquisition requirements, data quality, noise mitigation, grounding, shielding, and calibration.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in power electronics and solving complex electrical engineering problems from design through delivery.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated strength in high-voltage/pulsed-power systems, power electronics, or low-voltage control and diagnostics.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, loads, and function or pulse generators.
• Comfort working in high-energy or electrically noisy environments with a strong safety mindset and disciplined documentation.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite, LTSpice, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, Simulink, Python, and/or MATLAB.
