Database Administrator (w/SQL)

Location: Hybrid work two days per week in Lisbon, Portugal; candidates must be based in Portugal and hold Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.

What you will do

• Maintain SQL Server and open database environments through incident and change management.
• Analyze and optimize database performance and advise IT teams on query design.
• Contribute to technical and business projects, including architecture definition, version management, and obsolescence management.
• Document and maintain security, monitoring, backup, and restoration solutions.
• Ensure database availability by coordinating Studies, Production, Infrastructure, and Security stakeholders.
• Monitor developments in database tools and architectures, including Cloud and Big Data technologies.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience as a database administrator.
• Professional experience with SQL Server and open databases such as MongoDB, SingleStore, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• DevOps mindset with experience documenting security, monitoring, backup, and restoration solutions.
• English proficiency at B2 level.
• Eligibility to work in Portugal through Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.
