Senior Application Support Engineer (Banking & Finance Systems)

Location: Lisbon, hybrid, with up to 3 remote days per week; candidates must have an existing legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Monitor and support critical banking applications while maintaining service levels and resolving incidents.
• Investigate production issues through log analysis, root cause analysis, and proactive monitoring.
• Manage support tickets, prioritize incidents by business impact, and implement operational changes safely.
• Support Apache HTTP Server, JBOSS, Tomcat, IIS, and related enterprise application environments.
• Automate routine operational tasks using Bash, Python, and scheduling tools.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams while documenting procedures, configurations, and incidents.

Requirements

• At least 9 years of experience in application support in enterprise or banking environments.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills; working knowledge of Windows is beneficial.
• Experience with Apache HTTP Server, JBOSS, Tomcat, and IIS.
• Knowledge of Control-M or similar control and scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, LDAP, and SMTP.
• Fluent English and an existing legal right to work in the European Union are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in banking or financial services.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, or relevant certifications.
