Lead Engineer, Backend (FinTech)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Salary: MYR 228,000–MYR 270,000 yearly

What you will do

• Lead and maintain a Java-based microservices cloud platform hosted on AWS.
• Plan, develop, implement, and test modular, maintainable, documented, and resource-efficient software.
• Investigate and remediate technical defects across the Ezypay platform.
• Perform manual and automated operational procedures and ongoing runtime-system maintenance.
• Recommend continuous improvements to the product and delivery process.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with senior engineers, team leads, and the CTO.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience with an in-depth understanding of distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant information technology experience.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, high-throughput production systems, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, relational database performance tuning, and cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of scalable distributed systems, web application security, internetworking concepts, software development lifecycle methodologies, SQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Legal authorization to work in Malaysia is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
