TL;DR
Senior Backend Engineer (Kotlin/Java, Fintech): Building and scaling payment gateways, settlement systems, mobile POS integrations, and financial service APIs with an accent on microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native infrastructure. What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST/gRPC APIs.
- Contribute to backend architecture, system reliability, and scalability.
- Build infrastructure supporting payment gateways, settlement systems, mobile POS integrations, and financial service APIs.
- Debug production issues and optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and frontend teams to deliver maintainable solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code while keeping current with modern backend and cloud technologies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software development experience with Kotlin or Java.
- Strong understanding of microservices, AWS or GCP deployment, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and event-driven systems.
- Solid understanding of REST, gRPC, and GitHub-based version control.
- Fluent English required; Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus.
