Director, Business Development, Publishing Partnerships (AI Music)

Location: On-site in Los Angeles or New York City; applicants must be eligible to work in the US

Salary: $225,000–$290,000 annually, before equity

What you will do

• Drive commercial strategy for partnerships across the music industry.
• Negotiate and close complex deals with music publishers, including first-of-kind deal structures.
• Build and maintain senior-level relationships with music publishing companies.
• Advise leadership on AI music market dynamics, competitive developments, industry engagement, and partnership opportunities.
• Develop scalable contract management, partner operations, and long-term industry collaboration approaches.
• Support ecosystem partnerships and platform integrations across product, legal, finance, operations, and partnerships.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in business development or commercial negotiations within music and digital technology.
• Experience negotiating and closing complex, high-value, first-of-kind partnerships.
• Professional experience working with music publishers.
• Strong ability to influence and align executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects.
• Strong product intuition, strategic judgment, autonomy, and experience working with product and technical teams in fast-paced technology environments.
