Senior MySQL Database Administrator (MySQL)

hirify.global is helping a client hire a database administrator for a mission-critical enterprise production environment.

What you will do

• Administer enterprise production MySQL databases and maintain installations, configurations, patches, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
• Configure and support MySQL replication, clustering, automated and manual failover, and high-availability environments.
• Manage backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Analyze database performance and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans.
• Automate recurring DBA activities with Linux shell scripts and perform migrations, environment refreshes, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot production database and application issues, provide on-call support, and collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on MySQL database administration experience in enterprise, production, and mission-critical environments.
• Advanced SQL skills with strong performance tuning and optimization experience.
• Strong Linux command-line administration and shell scripting skills.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL replication, high availability, backup, restore, and disaster recovery.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Galera Cluster, InnoDB Cluster, or Group Replication.
