Senior Director of Product (FinTech)

Location: New York, NY or San Francisco, CA; hybrid with on-site expectations of 2–3 days per week. Candidates outside these areas may be eligible for relocation assistance.

Base salary: $288,000–$360,000 USD annually for Tier 1 NYC/Bay Area markets; compensation is adjusted by geographic pay zone outside these cities.

What you will do

• Define multi-year business and product strategy, investment theses, incubation frameworks, and portfolio strategies for new ventures.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of senior product managers.
• Own the product lifecycle from concept through launch and scale, including MVP definition and metrics-driven roadmaps.
• Establish customer discovery, rapid prototyping, and market validation processes.
• Communicate product strategy, progress, trade-offs, and risks to executives and senior stakeholders.
• Own product metrics, product-market-fit goals, early commercial targets, and P&L-oriented business outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience, including 4–5 years in Director or Senior Director-level leadership roles managing product managers.
• Demonstrated success building and launching net-new 0-to-1 products.
• Experience scaling an MVP into a validated, growing business line.
• Strong business, commercial, market analysis, and financial acumen, with P&L awareness or direct P&L influence.
• Executive presence and experience presenting complex strategies, trade-offs, and results to C-level leadership.
• Ability to hire, manage, and develop senior product talent while operating effectively in ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Founder or co-founder experience.
• Experience in an innovation lab, new ventures group, or startup-within-a-company environment.
• FinTech or PropTech experience.
