Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Construction

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States. On-site presence and requirements may change depending on client needs.

Base salary: $115,000–$135,000 per year, plus potential bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide cost management services across academic, administrative, athletic, infrastructure, and campus modernization projects.
• Manage procurement activities, including vendor prequalification, proposal evaluation, bid analysis, bid interviews, and appointment recommendations.
• Prepare, review, and present project estimates, forecasts, value engineering recommendations, and risk assessments.
• Manage cost reporting, budget and spend forecasts, commercial risk registers, invoicing, and periodic project meetings.
• Review payment applications, change orders, contractor entitlements, and contractual disputes with project managers and clients.
• Lead final accounts, post-contract audits, project closeouts, handover procedures, and lessons-learned reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction cost management.
• Experience supporting medium- or large-sized construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Construction consultancy experience.
• RICS accreditation or progress toward accreditation.
• Experience with bid analysis sheets, change control forms, cost estimating software, and take-off software.
