Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor (Construction)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio, United States; on-site presence required. On-site requirements may change according to client needs.

What you will do

• Act as the day-to-day client interface and deliver cost management services across the full construction project lifecycle.
• Develop estimates, budgets, cost plans, monthly cost reports, funding presentations, and built-cost benchmarking records.
• Estimate, reconcile, audit, and negotiate change orders, contractor and subcontractor pricing, valuations, and final accounts.
• Manage cost checks, contingency and commitment tracking, post-contract variances, change control, and cost validation processes.
• Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering, coordinating cost information from design teams, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Coach and mentor talent while supporting financial management, delivery methodologies, and client service standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.
• 5–7 years of relevant cost management experience in the construction industry.
• Experience leading cost management on medium or large, medium- to high-complexity construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working in a client-facing role.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• RICS accreditation or progress toward accreditation.
• Construction consultancy experience.
