TL;DR
Field Service Engineer (Medical Devices): Providing hardware and software support for clinical accounts across South Korea, including installations, training, IQ/OQ services, preventive maintenance, repairs, and technical support with an accent on laboratory instrumentation, distributor enablement, and customer service. Focus on troubleshooting mechanical, electronic, and optical systems, managing service parts and agreements, and coordinating technical support with U.S.-based teams.

Location: hirify.global Korea Office, with frequent travel throughout South Korea and approximately 50% or more field travel

What you will do

  • Provide hardware and software support for clinical accounts, distributors, and end users.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot laboratory and clinical instruments.
  • Deliver customer and distributor training, demonstrations, IQ/OQ services, and local qualification support.
  • Manage installed-base information, service agreements, spare-parts inventory, warranty claims, and service tools.
  • Conduct joint customer visits with distributors and Key Account Managers and execute service campaigns.
  • Maintain local service materials and FAQs while coordinating with the U.S.-based technical support team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Biopharma, Medical Devices, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in medical devices or laboratory instrumentation.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and optical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and customer-service skills.
  • Business proficiency in English and proficiency with ERP and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment and travel frequently throughout South Korea.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting high-value laboratory, clinical, or life-science instrumentation.
  • Experience in field service, service coordination, technical customer support, clinical diagnostics, life sciences, or medical devices.
