Associate Field Service Engineer (Biotechnology)

Location: Remote from Massachusetts with field-based support for the Boston market; candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Boston area at their own expense. Regular travel to customer sites in New England and the NY Metro region is required, with occasional travel to Eastern Canada and other Eastern sub-regions. Remote phone-based troubleshooting is performed from home when not traveling.

Salary: $55,000–$60,000 annualized base salary; paid hourly and eligible for overtime.

What you will do

• Train alongside Field Service Engineers during customer-site installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Assist with diagnosing technical issues involving flow cytometry instrumentation.
• Learn and follow service procedures, technical memos, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
• Use Salesforce, prepare Field Service Reports, complete expense reports, and maintain weekly timesheets.
• Communicate product-quality observations and service concerns while collaborating with Field Service, Sales, and Field Applications teams.
• Organize service parts and inventory and support customer satisfaction through professional, timely follow-up.

Requirements

• Recent college graduate within the past six months.
• Two-year Associate degree or preferably a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, follow-up, and professional communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including typing, email, and software use.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required.
• U.S. work authorization and a valid U.S. passport for potential travel to Canada required.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of flow cytometry or related scientific disciplines.
• Interest in field service, laboratory instrumentation, medical devices, biotechnology, or life science equipment.
