Mortgage Underwriter (Finance)

Location: Westlake, Texas, United States; onsite

Salary: $85,000–$100,000 per year, plus potential bonus or incentive opportunities

What you will do

• Assess mortgage and lines of credit applications.
• Analyze applicant financials, credit history, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare application summaries and make balanced underwriting decisions.
• Review and approve consumer credit applications while identifying potential issues.
• Communicate complex financial information clearly and build partnerships across organizations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of mortgage origination underwriting experience.
• Familiarity with FNMA requirements and Ability to Repay/CFPB guidance.
• Proven experience in consumer credit analysis, underwriting, review, and approval.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States without employer sponsorship.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent skills.
• Strong quantitative and Excel skills.
• Ability to identify issues in applications and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to explain complex financial information verbally and in writing.
• Ability to influence across organizations and build strong partnerships.
