What you will do

• Design and build backend features from technical design through production rollout.
• Implement architecture changes supporting long-term scalability.
• Investigate production-like scalability bottlenecks involving database access patterns and concurrency in hirify.globald.
• Improve database migration safety, schema compatibility, upgrade reliability, and rollback strategies.
• Resolve backend issues reported by hirify.global operators and administrators.
• Document system tradeoffs, participate in code reviews and RFC discussions, and join on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant production experience in Go.
• Deep knowledge of Go concurrency, including goroutines, channels, the sync package, and race-condition debugging under real-world load.
• Production experience designing and operating relational databases, including schemas, migrations, and transactions.
• Strong verbal and written communication, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Self-motivated and analytical approach to complex technical challenges.
• Backend experience with Go, Postgres, GCP, Kubernetes, and gRPC.

Nice to have

• Infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience building or operating distributed systems at meaningful scale.
• Curiosity about current developer tooling.
