What you will do

• Design real-time digital signal processor architectures for general motion control systems.
• Develop advanced multi-axis motion control and servo loops for nanometer-scale motion stages.
• Develop Python and MATLAB scripts to accelerate servo tuning and identify new control algorithms.
• Define firmware requirements, architectures, design descriptions, verification plans, and test cases.
• Partner with software and mechanical engineering teams on stage subsystem design.
• Drive development, testing, integration, documentation, and manufacturing transition of complex electrical components and high-precision motion subsystems.

Requirements

• Strong background in linear, nonlinear, digital, robust, and adaptive control theory.
• 5+ years of firmware development experience with C/C++ in a real-time operating system environment.
• Experience with firmware programming, software architecture design, and servo loop tuning for nanoscale motion systems.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating complex electrical components and subsystems.
• Experience analyzing motion control requirements and defining system architectural partitioning for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Doctorate with 3 years, master's degree with 6 years, or bachelor's degree with 8 years of related work experience; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
