Billing & Collections Specialist (Medical Technology)

What you will do

• Prepare, edit, and submit account billing according to customer contracts and payer rules.
• Review outstanding claims and aged accounts receivable to identify collection actions.
• Follow up with insurers and patients regarding outstanding balances while providing professional customer service.
• Post and resolve insurance denials, including corrective actions, charge revisions, adjustments, discounts, and disputes.
• Prepare audit documentation, document claim activity, and schedule follow-up communications in the company database.
• Identify denial and process trends and contribute medical billing expertise to team training, policies, and process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in medical billing and collections.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of billing and collections regulations, insurance contract practices, third-party billing, and private-client billing.
• Experience in a healthcare environment and with Dataworks, Computers Unlimited TIMS, or similar billing software is strongly preferred.
• Must already have full-time work authorization in the United States and be able to maintain it without employment visa sponsorship.
