Consulting Operations Analyst

Location: Hybrid in Provo, UT, or Seattle, WA; three office days per week on Mondays, Thursdays, and one additional day selected by the organizational leader.

Salary: $76,000–$100,000 annual base salary, plus a discretionary bonus or commission and benefits.

What you will do

• Administer and support Kantata, including reporting, data governance, user adoption, documentation, and best practices.
• Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, portfolio analytics, and visual reports for leadership.
• Support consulting revenue forecasting by monitoring project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, utilization, billing, and profitability drivers.
• Audit project performance and reconcile engagement leader forecasts with financial, operational, and resource data to identify risks and inconsistencies.
• Analyze forecast-to-actual performance, backlog, utilization, margins, billing readiness, revenue leakage, and other business metrics.
• Automate reporting and improve data quality and operational efficiency using Excel, Power Query, VBA, and other tools while partnering with Finance, Sales, Consulting Leadership, and Operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in FP&A, consulting operations, business operations, business systems, financial analytics, or a related analytical function.
• Advanced or expert Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data modeling, pivot tables, Power Query, reporting automation, dashboards, and VBA/macros.
• Experience developing executive dashboards, KPIs, and automated reporting solutions.
• Ability to analyze large project portfolios and convert financial, operational, and resource data into actionable insights.
• Strong financial knowledge in forecasting, budgeting, revenue analysis, profitability analysis, and performance reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience in professional services, consulting, or project-based organizations.
• Experience with Kantata, formerly Mavenlink, Dynamic Insights, or comparable PSA platforms.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence and data visualization tools.
