Sr Manager, Software Development & Engineering Lead (PL) (AI)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX or Southlake, TX, United States

What you will do

• Lead multiple Agile and Lean software engineering teams responsible for platform delivery, modernization, operational support, and production ownership.
• Translate business priorities into engineering objectives and guide delivery execution across business-critical platforms.
• Provide technical leadership, influence architecture decisions, improve engineering standards, and navigate complex technical trade-offs.
• Improve platform reliability, operational health, production readiness, monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Lead legacy platform modernization, migration planning, validation, deployment, and adoption of modern engineering practices.
• Partner with product, architecture, SRE, QA, program management, finance, talent acquisition, business stakeholders, and engineering groups.

Requirements

• Engineering management experience leading multiple software engineering teams.
• Strong systems engineering capability across scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable applications, services, dependencies, and data flows.
• Experience leading SDLC practices covering planning, delivery, testing, validation, documentation, deployment, and operational readiness.
• Ability to use generative AI or AI-assisted engineering practices responsibly across planning, delivery, quality, documentation, automation, modernization, and operational efficiency.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, business judgment, and data-informed decision-making skills.
• Experience developing managers, technical leads, and engineers through coaching, mentorship, feedback, career development, and talent planning.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, .NET, cloud platforms, containers, microservices, relational databases, NoSQL, and messaging platforms.
• Experience leading large, complex organizations with onshore and offshore delivery models.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Experience creating scalable knowledge-sharing mechanisms such as champion forums, playbooks, reusable practices, or learning communities.
