Senior Machinist (Aerospace)

Location: San Jose, California; fully on-site five days per week

Salary: $58–$65 per hour, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Program and operate 3- and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes for flight components.
• Participate in testing and tooling design reviews to identify manufacturability and tolerance issues.
• Develop fixturing, tooling, and machining processes to improve production speed and efficiency.
• Own first-article and in-process quality control for hardware.
• Document work in the MES, create non-conformance tickets, and maintain component traceability.
• Train shop staff and engineers on tooling and component-specific machining processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of machining experience in aerospace, medical, or another high-precision industry.
• Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills and using CAM software such as Fusion 360 or Mastercam.
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controllers.
• Strong metrology fundamentals and confidence using inspection tools.
• Experience or comfort working with brittle materials, including graphite, composites, and ceramics.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, protected individual, or otherwise eligible to access export-controlled information under ITAR/EAR requirements; security clearance may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Matsuura, Yasda, and Haas equipment.
• CMM programming experience.
• Tooling, test laboratory, or Class 7+ cleanroom experience.
• Experience machining exotic alloys, graphite, or other brittle materials.
