TL;DR
Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and improving manufacturing processes, equipment, production workflows, tooling, and documentation for high-reliability, high-volume satellite products with an accent on design for manufacturability, process validation, and production readiness. Focus on analyzing manufacturing performance, resolving technical and quality challenges, leading root cause investigations and corrective actions, and collaborating across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations.

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $113,000–$136,000 per year

Develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms in a cross-functional startup environment.

What you will do

  • Develop manufacturing processes, production workflows, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions for complex products and assemblies.
  • Conduct engineering analyses, time studies, capacity analyses, and process evaluations to improve production performance.
  • Validate manufacturing processes, qualify equipment, support first article builds, and drive production readiness activities.
  • Evaluate manufacturing data, process capability, quality metrics, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Lead root cause investigations, engineering changes, corrective actions, and manufacturing issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, production control, operations, and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability of electronics hardware.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 industry standards.
  • Experience with change management, nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, corrective action systems, acceptance criteria, cost analysis, supplier management, and configuration management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Statistical process control experience.
  • Aerospace or other high-reliability industry experience.
  • Experience with PLM and ERP software.
  • Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 quality management systems and lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Experience managing multiple high-priority tasks successfully.
