Location: Washington Wind (Tuolumne), United States; site-based work with daily in-person collaboration

Salary: $120,000–$144,000 USD annual base pay, plus eligibility for an annual cash bonus

What you will do

  • Oversee the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of the Washington Wind farm.
  • Monitor plant performance, wind conditions, SCADA reports, maintenance schedules, and staff performance.
  • Create annual operating plans, contribute to budgets, and manage operational forecasting and controls.
  • Supervise on-site turbine technicians, contractors, and vendors while coordinating issue resolution.
  • Operate and switch high-voltage equipment and troubleshoot substations, collection systems, and wind turbines.
  • Coordinate with landowners, authorities, state agencies, and internal support functions on operational, environmental, and contractual matters.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in the wind industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of NERC standards, utility regulations, power purchase contracts, operations management, and financial reporting.
  • Experience supervising and maintaining high-value wind installations at or above projected performance and within budget.
  • Ability to climb wind turbine towers up to 300 feet, work in confined spaces and adverse environments, and handle up to 50 pounds independently or 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to meet CEG’s Qualified Electrical Worker requirements, work with electrical wiring, and respond to plant outages on a 24/7 schedule.
  • High school diploma required; a four-year degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

Nice to have

  • Technical training in wind plant operations.
  • OSHA training.
  • Experience with project management software, especially MS Project.
