Senior Electrical Engineer (Mission Critical)

Location: Fully remote, or onsite in Lakewood, Colorado; applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Some field work and 10–25% travel may be required.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per year, based on the Denver, Colorado labor market.

What you will do

• Perform detailed design for substation electrical power systems, including one-line and three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable routing, grounding, equipment selection, and general arrangements.
• Write equipment specifications and prepare project and construction cost estimates, budgets, proposals, studies, and schedules.
• Develop computer-based models and perform short-circuit, load-flow, relay-coordination, arc-flash, power-factor, harmonic, and related power system studies, including simple hand checks of computer-aided results.
• Develop protective relay settings and apply relevant codes and standards.
• Provide field assistance and troubleshooting, and check the quality and accuracy of designers', drafters', and field service personnel's work.
• Support client communication, assignments, and meetings while delivering work on time and within budget under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; an electric power option is preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Knowledge and familiarity with power systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and people skills.
• FE licensure is preferred but not required.
• Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
