Manager, Government Affairs and Weather Enterprise Partnerships (Weather): Advancing AccuWeather’s policy positions and partnerships across Congress, federal agencies, scientific societies, and weather industry associations with an accent on legislative advocacy, federal engagement, and meteorological stakeholder relations. Focus on developing congressional outreach strategies, embedding AccuWeather expertise in AMS initiatives, shaping industry positions, and translating complex weather science for policy and non-technical audiences.
Location: State College, Pennsylvania, or remote within the United States; travel up to 30%, including Washington, D.C., conferences, and potential international events

What you will do
- Represent before Congress, federal agencies, committees, and professional staff.
- Develop congressional outreach and advocacy strategies and monitor legislation, regulations, hearings, and policy developments.
- Prepare testimony, policy papers, briefing materials, formal comments, and legislative tracking reports.
- Manage ’s relationships with the American Meteorological Society and integrate company expertise into publications, committees, certifications, and conferences.
- Lead engagement with weather industry associations including NWA, AWCIA, WMO, PRIMET, and HMEI.
- Collaborate with communications, marketing, legal, and executive leadership teams to develop external messaging and partnership opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in political science, public policy, communications, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative advocacy, or a related field.
- Knowledge of and passion for the weather industry, meteorological sciences, and the public/private weather enterprise.
- Experience developing advocacy strategies, policy platforms, or legislative campaigns.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, advocacy, organizational, and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Washington, D.C., and major industry conferences.
Nice to have
- Existing relationships with Congressional staff, Members of Congress, or relevant federal agencies.
- Experience with professional scientific societies such as AMS or NWA.
- Meteorology knowledge or background.
- Understanding of ’s mission, products, and position in the global weather enterprise.
