Software Engineer I (Ruby on Rails)

What you will do

• Design and implement new features across multiple backend applications.
• Enhance the Ruby on Rails backend supporting core business operations.
• Build a scalable service-driven architecture and formulate delivery plans for stable, well-tested features.
• Make technical recommendations that improve the codebase while minimizing risk.
• Identify, fix and prevent bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with technical and product teams and contribute to code reviews.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of software engineering experience with Ruby on Rails; Python, Go, PHP or Java experience is also considered.
• Experience with e-commerce or web applications.
• Familiarity with web services technologies, design patterns and technical trade-offs.
• Fluent Mandarin and English.
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Ability to learn quickly, work autonomously and handle increasing responsibility.
