What you will do

• Lead engineering strategy and strengthen the site’s position in vacuum technology.
• Build and develop a motivated, high-performing engineering organization.
• Accelerate product development through agile principles, iterative design, and rapid prototyping.
• Ensure engineering excellence across design, quality, manufacturability, serviceability, and sustainability.
• Standardize engineering processes and tools, establish KPIs, and drive disciplined project execution and risk management.
• Strengthen collaboration with procurement, production, logistics, service, and other disciplines across geographies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or an equivalent field.
• Several years of relevant industrial research and development experience.
• Experience in leadership or conceptual roles, including employee development and cross-functional leadership.
• Strong analytical understanding of cost structures, lead times, inventory, and investment decisions.
• Excellent communication, persuasion, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented skills.
• Very good English and excellent German, spoken and written, are required.
