Senior Engineer-Validation (Hydraulic Mining Shovels)

Location: Tucson, Arizona, United States; onsite work at Tucson Proving Grounds and Tucson Mining Center based on project needs. Domestic relocation is available, and occasional travel of approximately 10% is required.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 annually.

What you will do

• Create and lead hydraulic mining shovel validation strategies and activity plans with product, systems, and machine development groups.
• Plan and budget validation activities, maintain schedules, and report status to product leadership.
• Use reliability, design verification, and virtual product development tools to evaluate critical failure modes and mitigate risk.
• Prepare Machine Readiness Summaries and risk assessments for new product introduction programs.
• Collaborate with test teams, design groups, corporate validation experts, continuous product improvement leaders, customers, and global engineering partners.
• Support validation deliverables, design reviews, and continuous improvement throughout the product development cycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering curriculum.
• Experience with machine validation, durability, reliability, and quality processes for heavy equipment or complex engineered systems.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret test results, identify failure modes, assess technical risks, and develop data-driven solutions.
• Understanding of new product development, continuous product improvement, validation planning, product readiness assessments, and design reviews.
• Strong communication skills for presenting validation status, risk assessments, and recommendations to technical and leadership audiences.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Hydraulic mining shovel product experience.
• Hydraulic system design and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience validating off-highway equipment powered by diesel engines or AC motors.
• Off-highway machine design experience and knowledge of hirify.global processes such as NPI, NTI, and CPI.
• Experience working in a global engineering environment.
