Software Engineering Manager, Agentic Acceleration /AI Search (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 140,000–205,700 per year base salary for Canada-based roles; offers may exceed this range.

What you will do

• Lead large-scale business initiatives and contribute to long-term strategy for search infrastructure services.
• Build and improve modern, scalable search platforms powering hirify.global Industry Clouds, including Fusion, Forma, and Flow.
• Drive resiliency, engineering excellence, customer-centricity, and delivery of high-quality cloud software.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to achieve business outcomes and meet customer needs.
• Hire, mentor, develop, and manage engineering talent, including cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
• Improve engineering efficiency and help teams navigate uncertainty and complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of industry experience designing and developing highly available, cloud-scale server applications and services.
• 5+ years leading, mentoring, and managing development teams, including senior engineers, principal engineers, and architects.
• Exceptional proficiency in Java or a similar programming language.
• Expertise with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS.
• Experience developing scalable, available, and resilient cloud data systems, managing senior engineering talent, and building geographically distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on exposure to information retrieval with Lucene, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch.
• Experience with vector databases and ML infrastructure.
• Experience monitoring and improving reliability of complex systems at scale.
• Awareness of security and compliance challenges in cloud products and platforms.
