Failure Analysis Hardware Validation Engineer

What you will do

• Validate electrical test hardware for accuracy and reliability in semiconductor product analysis.
• Verify translated test patterns, board designs, and test flows against validation standards.
• Troubleshoot tester supply resources, load boards, socket boards, hardware setups, and related issues.
• Debug test patterns and test-flow execution to optimize hardware performance.
• Document validation results and findings in detailed reports.
• Collaborate with Failure Analysis Enablement, Hardware Design, Test Engineering, and Failure Analysis teams across global PDQC locations.

Requirements

• Solid experience in test engineering and hardware validation methodologies.
• Experience with digital semiconductor testers, including Advantest Exascale SMT8 and Cohu Diamond 10.
• Knowledge of test method development using C++ or Java, tester characterization, and ATE testing.
• Ability to read schematics and interpret board layouts, socket profiles, and package drawings.
• Programming or scripting familiarity with Python, C++, Java, NI LabVIEW, or Linux Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of JTAG, SPI, I2C, Windows, and Linux, plus strong communication and report-writing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Allegro PCB Editor Viewer and TinyCAD.
• Familiarity with test mode entry, digital test patterns, data logging, and shmoo plotting.
• Knowledge of ATPG, scan testing, scan diagnosis, Memory BIST, and bitmapping.
• Practical experience in a high-tech environment, particularly New Product Introduction.
• Basic knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word.
