Senior Director, Risk for Mexico (Payments Risk and Fraud Prevention): Leading client risk advisory, fraud prevention, and security roadmap initiatives for Visa's Mexican payments market with an accent on risk governance, payment fraud disruption, and regulatory, credit, and operational risk. Focus on optimizing client fraud and authorization performance, coordinating cross-functional teams, and designing safer payment processes across card-present and card-not-present channels.
Location: Mexico City, Mexico; at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do
- Lead fraud prevention strategy advisory, oversight, client risk assessments, and strategic risk projects in the Mexican market.
- Own the market security roadmap and serve as the local liaison for enterprise risk, credit settlement risk, regulatory governance, payment fraud disruption, ecosystem risk, and crisis management.
- Partner with key clients to optimize fraud and authorization performance and promote risk management best practices and technical controls.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create safer payment processes and flows using Net and Risk Solutions.
- Provide risk insights and recommendations across card-present and card-not-present channels, including regulatory, operational, and settlement risks.
- Lead client, internal, and external stakeholder relationships while coordinating cross-functional teams and reporting to the Regional Risk Officer.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree, 8 years with an advanced degree, or 3 years with a PhD; 12+ years of payment experience is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of the payments industry, fraud prevention, cybersecurity, credit risk, regulatory risk, and operational risk.
- Experience advising clients, managing direct staff, and coordinating multifunctional risk programs and initiatives.
- Proven ability to develop client engagement strategies, influence senior stakeholders, and lead complex cross-functional programs.
- Proficient written and spoken English and Spanish required.
- Availability to travel and represent the market during client visits and forums.
