Risk & Disputes Intern (Fintech)

Location: Remote in Mexico; Monday through Friday, 9:00 am–5:30 pm Central Time

Salary: $800 USD per month as an independent contractor

What you will do

• Investigate disputed credit card, debit card, and ACH transactions and resolve cases within established timeframes.
• Work with fraud, disputes, operations, data science, and engineering teams to determine case actions and improve loss-prevention tools.
• Analyze transactions, account patterns, and internal data to identify fraud trends and make informed decisions.
• Maintain domain knowledge of fraud prevention techniques and technologies.
• Meet service-level agreements for queued cases and minimize potential losses.
• Handle escalations from internal and external stakeholders professionally and efficiently.

Requirements

• Experience analyzing data and making impactful decisions in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, business judgment, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to self-start and work with minimal supervision after training.
• Demonstrated experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools, with comfort using AI for productivity, research, and communication.
• Availability for full-time work Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Central Time.
