Java Developer (AI)

Location: On site in Austin, TX or Southlake, TX

Salary: USD $126,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and evolve scalable technology solutions for high-volume, highly available environments.
• Translate complex business and technical requirements into application architecture and production-ready solutions.
• Research technologies, build proof of concepts, and implement solutions supporting system modernization.
• Develop web services, data pipelines, ETL processes, messaging applications, and distributed database integrations.
• Improve automated testing, deployment pipelines, system reliability, and development lifecycle practices.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders, document solutions, and support knowledge sharing and mentorship.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Java, Spring, cloud development, and REST/SOAP web services.
• 2+ years of experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, or messaging frameworks.
• Experience with Spring Batch or messaging/pub-sub applications, CI/CD tools, cloud platforms, and distributed databases.
• Practical experience using GenAI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code for implementation, testing, reviews, automation, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Working knowledge of agentic workflows, spec-driven development, custom instructions, and prompt engineering.
• Experience supporting IT transformation or system modernization initiatives.

Nice to have

• Agile methodologies, JIRA, Test-Driven Development, RabbitMQ, or .NET technologies including C#.
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
