Senior Technical Accountant

Location: Remote in Canada, Kitchener, Ontario, or Toronto, Ontario

Salary: $85,000–$105,000 CAD annually

What you will do

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, MD&A, and related Board materials.
• Research technical accounting matters and develop accounting policies and position papers under IFRS.
• Analyze complex transactions, including M&A and business combinations, and prepare technical memos in collaboration with external auditors.
• Support annual financial statement audits, statutory audits, and quarterly reviews.
• Design, implement, maintain, and improve internal controls and financial reporting processes.
• Support Order-to-Cash activities, including revenue analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and period-end close procedures.

Requirements

• Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, and audit experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience preparing financial statements with full note disclosures.
• Experience recommending, implementing, and executing robust internal controls.
• Completion of a CPA designation, or completion of professional exams and near completion of practical experience requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, finance, or accounting.
• Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in the software or technology sector.
• Experience with financial reporting for global companies.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office and NetSuite ERP.
