Privacy Compliance Specialist (Healthcare Privacy)

Location: Remote, United States. Work from home in a designated area with company-provided equipment and a reliable internet connection of at least 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

Salary: $48,000–$65,000 annual full-time salary.

What you will do

• Research, track, and support implementation of privacy requirements from laws, regulations, accreditation standards, contracts, and industry best practices.
• Monitor privacy-related legislative and regulatory developments and prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for management, committees, and stakeholders.
• Support internal compliance assessments, data privacy impact assessments, risk remediation, and resolution of privacy-related issues.
• Prepare responses to external audits and support third-party audits involving the privacy program.
• Maintain and develop privacy policies, procedures, templates, and forms, and help deliver privacy training to employees and vendors.
• Track findings, deadlines, accreditation activities, contractual requirements, and follow-up actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, History, Political Science, or an equivalent background; a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, paralegal studies, or law is preferred.
• 2–4 years of regulatory compliance experience in a healthcare or insurance benefit administration environment.
• Experience with regulatory compliance research, privacy regulations, and federal regulatory issues involving HIPAA, GLBA, and GINA is preferred.
• Excellent research, analytical, writing, communication, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel; experience with Westlaw, StateNet, or similar research tools is desirable.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and establish cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
