Compliance Manager (Healthcare)

Location: 100% remote, must be based in the United States; Hawaii is excluded.

Salary: $152,000–$176,700 base salary, plus equity; no bonus.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day medical records operations and monitor team and vendor performance.
• Coordinate external audits and regulatory reviews from intake through findings, remediation, and closure.
• Partner with Legal, Privacy, Clinical, Financial Operations, Partnerships, and other stakeholders on compliance risks.
• Translate regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements into practical, sustainable processes.
• Oversee operational workflows, third-party medical records fulfillment vendors, and related compliance activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in healthcare privacy, medical records, release-of-information processes, or health information management.
• 3+ years of experience managing or coordinating external audits, regulatory reviews, or similar oversight activities.
• 3+ years of experience interpreting regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements and translating them into processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, health information management, compliance, or a related field.
• Experience collaborating with Legal and other stakeholders on compliance concerns and risks.
• Strong concise verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, Juris Doctor, or equivalent advanced training in healthcare law.
• 2+ years of experience in telehealth, privacy, or behavioral health compliance.
• Experience with third-party medical records fulfillment vendors.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Zendesk, electronic health record systems, and healthcare practice management platforms.
• Compliance, privacy, audit, or health information management certification.
